Berenika creates out of a need to make things as a way of coping. She believes her obsession with photography is likely linked to her desire to hold onto memories and events before she forgets them.

Her recent art book 'Kind Regards' explores themes surrounding queer adolescence in a small Scottish town- it developed into a mixed media book including colourful landscape photography, writing mostly poetry and paintings.
Influences for this project include Wolfgang Tillmans and Lauren Tepfer as well as Keaton Henson’s poetry. More generally she takes inspiration from everything around her, though outdoor spaces particularly resonate with her. For this reason, she prefers shooting outdoors rather than in a studio. Her love of reading also plays a part in her practice.
FUN FACT:
Her long distance relationship with her girlfriend has her hoping to move in together when she graduates from university.
